Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon, maisasakatuparan na ng Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), sa pangunguna ni Chairman/CEO Alvin S. Feliciano ang paglulunsad ng “Adopt-an-Urban Poor Community Project” na magaganap sa darating na ika-23 ng Nobyembre sa Barangay Balet, Babak District, Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte, Mindanao sa pakikipagtulungan ng Island Garden City of Samal at MCKS Caring Heart Foundation, Inc. (MCKS CHFI).

Bilang parte ng programa, pinakaaabangan ang pagsasagawa ng “Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing Ceremony” sa pagitan ng PCUP na pangungunahan ni PCUP Chairman at ng iba pang mga pribadong kompanya gaya ng IGaCoS, MCKS CHFI, Barangay Balet at MHAI.

Pagkatapos nito, magkakaroon ng “Ground Breaking Ceremony” na inaasahang dadaluhan din nina City Mayor Al David Uy at ni MCKS CHFI Representative Ms. Donna Bigkas kasama pa si PCUP Commissioner-in-Charge for Mindanao Norman B. Baloro.

Aabot sa daan-daang pamilya ang makikinabang sa programang ikinakasa ng Komisyon lalo na yaong mga natukoy o tinatawag na “priority for relocation” ng City Housing Office kabilang na rin ang mga residenteng walang sariling lupa at mga hindi nakatatamasa ng pribilehiyo ng Barangay Balet.

Kasabay ng nasabing programa ay ang pagsasagawa ng serbisyong medikal, dental at optikal na pangungunahan naman ng MCKS CHFI at ng City Health Office ng IGaCoS, kung saan ay nasa mahigit 1,000 hanggang 1,500 ang inaasahang bilang ng mga maseserbisyuhan kabilang na ang mga residente ng Barangay Balet, Cogon, Libuak at Tagpoponga.

Ang “Adopt-an-Urban Poor Community Project” ay isa lamang sa tatlong “Priority Programs” ng PCUP na naglalayong makatulong sa mga mahihirap na komunidad at magbigay sa mga ito ng sapat na serbisyo para sa mga pangangailangan ng kanilang lugar sa pamamagitan ng pagdulog sa mga pribadong kompanya na magsilbing partner organization ng ahensya. Ibig sabihin, Makikipag-ugnayan ang Komisyon sa iba’t ibang mga pribadong kompanya upang magbigay tulong sa maralitang komunidad sa aspeto ng trabaho, edukasyon, pabahay, kalusugan at iba pa.

Ang paglulunsad ng “Adopt-an-Urban Poor Community Project” sa pangunguna ni Feliciano ay naka-angkla sa 0+10 Socio Economic Agenda at ng Philippine Development Plan mula 2017 hanggang 2022 ng kasalukuyang administrasyon. Ang layunin nito ay ang pagkakaroon ng komportable at maayos na pamumuhay para sa mga maralitang Pilipino saan mang panig ng bansa. ###

 

PCUP to launch Adopt-an-Urban Poor Community Project

The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP), with the initiative of its Chairman/CEO Alvin S. Feliciano is set to conduct the first launching of “Adopt-an-Urban Poor Community Project” on November 23 at Barangay Balet, Babak District, Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte, Mindanao in partnership with the Island Garden City of Samal and MCKS Caring Heart Foundation, Inc. (MCKS CHFI).

As part of the upcoming event, Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony between the PCUP and other partner companies and agencies such as IGaCoS, MCKS CHFI, Barangay Balet and MHAI will also be happening as it will be the highlight of the program.

After the MOA signing activity, PCUP Chairperson/CEO Alvin S. Feliciano along with PCUP Commissioner-in-Charge for Mindanao Norman B. Baloro, City Mayor Al David Uy, and MCKS CHFI Representative Ms. Donna Bigkas will lead the Ground breaking ceremonies of the said project.

Around hundreds of families are expected to benefit from the said program especially those which were identified as “priority for relocation” by the City Housing Office including also those landless and unprivileged families of Barangay Balet.

Upon the conduct of the said event, medical, dental, and optical mission will be initiated by MCKS CHFI and City Health Office of IGaCoS to include Barangay Balet, Cogon, Libuak, and Tagpopongan with an estimated beneficiaries of 1,000-1,500 individuals.

The “Adopt-an-Urban Poor Community Project” is one of the Three Priority Programs being pushed by the Commission in order to help and provide those marginalized communities assistance for their community’s basic needs and this is through partnering with different private companies that will agree to the terms and guidelines of “Adopt-an-Urban Poor Community Program” linked with the signed of our President Rodrigo Duterte, the Magna Carta of the Poor. This means that PCUP will coordinate with various companies that can accommodate the rights of the Filipino poor to any of the following; work, education, housing, health care, and more.

PCUP’s “Adopt-and-Urban Poor Community Program” under the leadership of its Chairperson/CEO Alvin S Feliciano is anchored on the administration’s O+10 Socio Economic Agenda and the Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022.
