The Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) aided approximately 2,000 urban poor with free medical and dental check-up, local and international job fair, and health and wellness services as the PCUP Caravan landed in Brgy. Malaya, Mariveles Bataan last April 2, 2019.
PCUP collaborated with different national government agencies such as: Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), PESO, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Health (DOH), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).
Moreover, Serbisyo Pilipino and AFAB Labor Center also extended their support by holding job placements for the urban poor.
“Ang PCUP Caravan ay patuloy pa na magbibigay ng direktang serbisyo para sa tao, na kung saan, ang pinagsama-samang serbisyo ng pamahalaan at iba pa nating mga kasama ay maibababa natin sa inyong komunidad,” said PCUP Chairperson/CEO Alvin S. Feliciano.
The PCUP Caravan is one of the three (3) priority programs of the Commission along with the Adopt-a-Community project and the Urban Poor Privilege Card.
Meanwhile, the next Caravan is set to take place in Lupang Arenda, Taytay, Rizal on April 12, 2019. # # #
